J'ai rempli une demande de soins de répit car ma mère de 87 ans avait des problèmes médicaux et je vivais à 30 miles de là, essayant de gérer 2 ménages et de travailler à une heure de route. Ma mère vivait dans le comté de Lexington et j'habite à Aiken. On m'a dit, puisque je n'habitais pas dans le comté de Lexington, qu'ils ne pouvaient pas m'aider. Ils m'ont dit de contacter le conseil inférieur de Savannah et de remplir une demande de répit, ce que j'ai fait. Ils m'ont dit que puisque ma mère ne vivait pas dans le comté d'Aiken, ils ne pouvaient pas m'aider. Quoi?? Alors devinez ce qui s'est passé alors ??? JE N'AI REÇU AUCUNE AIDE !!! Ils disent aux soignants de demander de l'aide, mais lorsque vous le faites, personne ne vous aide. Cela me rend malade de savoir qu'ils sont censés aider mais ont refusé ...

Le Central Midlands Council a été une source de soutien pendant la maladie de mon mari. Leur Caregiver Grant nous a donné des services de répit afin que je puisse avoir une pause bien méritée pour prendre soin de mon bien-aimé. Leur subvention d'approvisionnement est venue juste alors que le coût des fournitures de papier mettait nos finances dans une impasse. Merci Midlands pour votre aide.
