Le diocèse catholique romain de Springfield-Cape Girardeau est fier de présenter le Georgia Tech Catholic Center - une communauté de foi dynamique qui sert les étudiants, les professeurs et le personnel du Georgia Institute of Technology. Notre mission est de fournir un environnement accueillant où les individus peuvent grandir dans leur relation avec Dieu et les uns avec les autres par le culte, la fraternité, l'éducation et le service.
Au cœur de notre ministère se trouve la célébration de la messe. Nous offrons la messe quotidienne sur le campus dans notre chapelle située dans le Student Center Commons. Nos messes dominicales ont lieu à 10h30 et 19h pendant l'année scolaire. Nous offrons également des possibilités de confession avant ou après la messe ou sur rendez-vous.
En plus de nos célébrations liturgiques, nous offrons divers programmes qui répondent à différents intérêts et besoins. Par exemple, nous avons des études bibliques qui se réunissent chaque semaine pour des discussions en petits groupes sur des passages bibliques pertinents pour la vie quotidienne. Nous organisons également des retraites qui permettent aux participants de faire une pause dans leur emploi du temps chargé et de réfléchir à leur cheminement spirituel.
Notre centre propose également des événements sociaux tels que des soirées jeux, des soirées cinéma, des repas-partage, des pique-niques - tous conçus pour favoriser les amitiés entre les membres tout en s'amusant ensemble. De plus, nous organisons des projets de service tout au long de l'année où les membres peuvent redonner à la société en faisant du bénévolat auprès d'organismes de bienfaisance locaux ou en participant à des voyages missionnaires à l'étranger.
Nous croyons que l'éducation joue un rôle essentiel pour nourrir sa vie de foi. C'est pourquoi nous proposons des cours sur divers sujets liés au catholicisme tels que l'histoire de l'Église, les bases de la théologie, les questions morales - enseignés par des conférenciers compétents passionnés par le partage de leur expertise avec les autres.
Notre centre accueille des personnes de tous horizons, indépendamment de leur appartenance religieuse ou de leur niveau d'implication dans l'Église. Nous nous efforçons de créer un environnement inclusif où chacun se sent valorisé et respecté pour ce qu'il est.
