Je suis allé à Poudre Valley Foot & Ankle Clinic en 2010 pour des douleurs aux pieds. J'ai reçu un diagnostic de fasciite plantaire et j'ai suivi le traitement typique comprenant des orthèses personnalisées à 450,00 $, l'achat de plusieurs chaussures de sport coûteuses (le médecin a suggéré n'importe quelle chaussure avec une marque commençant par «A»), 1 essai d'injections mais extrêmement douloureux et inefficace. Après environ un an, le médecin m'a conseillé de subir une intervention chirurgicale pour libérer le fascia des deux pieds. J'ai subi la chirurgie dans l'espoir que la douleur serait soulagée. À ma grande surprise et à ma grande déception, il n'y a eu aucune amélioration! Le niveau et le type de douleur ont continué. Je suis resté avec 1 cicatrice de chaque côté de ma cheville pour ne pas mentionner quelques milliers de dollars de moins dans mon compte courant. J'ai décidé de rendre visite à un autre podiatre de la région et on m'a diagnostiqué un syndrome du tunnel tarsien et non une fasciite plantaire! Je n'ai pas reçu de véritable traitement à ce moment-là autre qu'une autre paire d'orthèses. Le podiatre n ° 3 m'a également donné un diagnostic de syndrome du tunnel tarsien et m'a encore prescrit une autre paire d'orthèses. Ce qui est très troublant, c'est que j'ai été mal diagnostiqué par le podiatre du PVFA et que j'ai subi une intervention chirurgicale inutile! Pas une bonne expérience du tout, alors méfiez-vous.
