Un grand merci à l'équipage de Jayhawk et au nageur de sauvetage (je crois que son nom est Joey; mes excuses si je me trompe) qui est venu me chercher en milieu d'après-midi le vendredi 31 mai, lorsque je suis devenu gravement déshydraté à cause du mal des transports lors du dernier étape de la course SoCal 300 de Santa Barbara à San Diego sur le voilier Macondo. Nous étions à environ 100 miles au large de SD lorsque j'ai appelé dans la demande d'évacuation. Après mon retour à SD, ce fut un court trajet en ambulance vers les urgences à UCSD Hillcrest, quelques heures pour être vérifié et soigné, puis je rentrais chez moi à Marina del Rey. Sans l'aide du CG, l'alternative était au moins un autre jour sur le bateau avec un résultat incertain quant à mon état.
L'opération s'est très bien déroulée et je n'ai été dans l'eau très froide que quelques minutes avant d'être dans le panier puis dans l'hélico. Merci encore d'être là pour nous, marins, lorsque nous avons un problème et que nous avons besoin de soins d'urgence.
Une des plus belles expériences que ma femme et moi avons partagées. Merci beaucoup pour tous les efforts et le temps nécessaires pour faire de cette expérience une excellente expérience. ... Vraiment ,, merci. Mise en service de Benjamin Bottoms.
